• Design and build websites to the highest standards
  
  

  Traditionally, we have worked as consultants to other website and Search Engine Optimisation companies. More recently, we have made a concerted shift towards applying our expertise to providing the very best of website design and creation services for the smaller to medium sized companies.
  
  The reason for this is that it is those companies and organizations who have the greatest need and the most limited budgets with which to work. Consequently, they tend to have the most difficulty in getting a good quality, well constructed website.

  
  
  
• Re-design old or incorrectly coded HTML
  
  

  Many older (and even some new) websites suffer from having badly formed HTML. They load slowly, appear incorrectly in some browsers and rank badly in the search engines.
  
  A website is not something that can be created and forgotten. It is an entity that needs to be updated and upgraded as the organization that it represents and the world around it changes.

  
  
  
• Create Database Driven Websites
  
  
  Websites are either static or dynamic. The pages of a dynamic website are usually created from data held in a database. The data are selected from the records to meet the requirements of the page content and then the HTML is created from a mixture of the selected data and fixed text/images.
  
  Normally, this is done by storing the database on the Server and then creating a page just prior to sending it to the browser. In some circumstances, we use a conventional combination of a MySQL database and PHP to create a dynamic site but this tends to leave the data open to attack by hackers.
  
  We tend to use our preferred method of keeping the database on the clients computer and using software which will automatically create the relevant pages and upload them to the server as hard coded HTML. This makes the site faster to load, far more resistant to hackers and much more "Search Engine Spider" friendly.
  
  
  
  
• Develop Databases and Bespoke Software
  
  
  As database development is so much a part of our database-driven website system, it is only natural that we should offer this as part of our services.
  
  In addition, we can provide bespoke software development using most popular languages.
  
  
  
  
• Provide Search Engine Optimised Websites
  
  
  The primary reason for producing a website is for people to be able to see it. If nobody sees your site then what is the point of having one?
  
  There are many companies who will claim to be able to get you top rankings in the search engines. However, most of them will resort to methods which are deplored by the search engines and which will result in your site being banned.

Things that we do not do, include:

• Design websites that try to be too clever.
  
  
  Many websites authors try to show how clever they are by putting in various "Bells & Whistles" special effects. Usually, these serve no purpose other than to feed the author's ego. Parts of the page that are moving, scrolling and flickering only annoy the reader who is trying to ignore them while viewing the information.
  
  
  
  
  
• Build websites which are based on Flash routines
  
  
  The reason for this is that search engines hate Flash as do many web users. It takes forever to download a Flash page over a modem connection and many people still use modems because of the security aspects of Broadband. Flash appeals to Marketing Departments who commission websites but one must remember that the visitor is the person for whom the website should be created.
